Welcome to Australasian Institute of Marine Surveyors (AIMS)

The AIMS is the peak industry body for surveyors in our region and the largest marine surveyor association in the Southern Hemisphere.

Our members are qualified and experienced in their profession and membership of the AIMS means being committed to and demonstrating our core values of talent, integrity and excellence in all that they do.

Established in 1986, the Australasian Institute of Marine Surveyors (AIMS) is the largest industry body for marine surveyors in the southern hemisphere.

We represent professional marine surveyors across all sectors of the industry and strive to ensure that consumers and stakeholders are properly informed on marine survey standards and ethics. Our core objectives are:

To establish and promote the specialised discipline of marine surveying by establishing standards of best practice that members commit to achieving.
To work with government and regulators to provide advice on existing and proposed legislative arrangements and ensure that the livelihoods of those persons working with the marine survey industry are protected.
To provide members of the public and marine industry stakeholders with credible information on marine survey practice and standards.
To develop and deliver educational resources for existing surveyors and those wanting to join the profession.
